Planning a trip to Georgia from Saudi Arabia? This balanced route covers culture, nature, and relaxation perfectly. Whether you are traveling as a family, a couple, or solo from Riyadh, Jeddah, or Dammam, this 7-day itinerary provides a comprehensive overview of what the Caucasus has to offer.
Georgia is incredibly diverse. In one week, you can soak in centuries-old thermal baths, hike at the foot of a 5,000-meter glacier, and watch the sunset over the Black Sea. Let's break down the optimal route.
Day 1-2: Tbilisi Exploration
Start your journey in the vibrant capital. Explore the narrow, winding streets of the Old Town (Abanotubani), where you can relax in the famous subterranean sulfur baths.
Take the aerial cable car up to the Narikala Fortress for panoramic views of the city spanning the Mtkvari River. In the evening, enjoy a walk along Rustaveli Avenue to feel the city's modern pulse, stopping for a traditional dinner of Khinkali and Khachapuri.
Day 3: Kazbegi Mountains
Leave the city behind and head north along the historic Georgian Military Highway. Make essential stops at the Ananuri Fortress, perched over the turquoise Zhinvali Reservoir, and the Russia-Georgia Friendship Monument for breathtaking valley views.
Upon reaching Stepantsminda (Kazbegi), hire a 4x4 or hike up to the iconic Gergeti Trinity Church. Sitting at 2,170 meters right below Mount Kazbek, this is the most famous viewpoint in Georgia.
Day 4: Relax & Transit West
Return from the mountains and take a breather. Use this as a flexible transit day. We recommend stopping at the Dry Bridge Market in Tbilisi for antique souvenirs before boarding the fast train (or hiring a driver) to the western region of Adjara. Recharging is key for the second half of the trip to avoid travel fatigue.
Day 5-6: Batumi & The Black Sea
Welcome to the Black Sea coast. Batumi offers a stark contrast to Tbilisi with its modern, quirky architecture, Las Vegas-style casinos, and long coastal promenade.
Spend your days exploring the massive Batumi Botanical Garden, riding the Argo Cable Car, and visiting the moving Ali & Nino statue at sunset. The pebbled beaches are perfect for relaxing during the summer months.
Day 7: Departure
Transfer to the airport. Whether you fly out of Batumi (BUS) or return to Tbilisi (TBS), ensure you leave plenty of buffer time for travel and check-in procedures. If driving from Batumi to Tbilisi for your flight, allocate at least 5.5 hours for the journey.
